To answer a post in the Members Only forum:
The Receptionist light novels and web novel are 99% identical except that the WN side stories aren't included in the LN. The LN has a few exclusive side stories as well.
One of the few differences between the LN and WN is

Additionally, in the sequel's WN,

To sum up, their relationship is not yet wrapped up, so there may be a better resolution coming to past issues. And Rockmann's past behavior becomes more understandable if you've read the side stories and sequel.
(Disclaimer: My Japanese sucks, so there may be translation errors. Feel free to correct me if you notice any.)

@aneliese shakes fist I wish those first two bits had been included in the LN!

This series is one that really makes me want to learn Japanese; I wish I had the time and motivation to do it T-T If those WN exclusive side stories and the sequel are never translated, I really might need to just pull myself up by my bootstraps and learn.

I wonder why the ice spear was omitted from the LN? I think out of all the scenes, that alleyway bit was the only one that made me distinctly uncomfortable, so it's nice to know it's not the same in the WN. Maintaining word count and page count for novels is a hard-knock life, I guess.

And just knowing Alois gives an apology in the "icing over" scene in the WN makes me feel much, much better. I do hope it gets included somewhere later in the LN, since like I said, it's sorta important to me for the trope to work, and the LN just reads different without its inclusion. It would've the most sense to have been said in either V3P11 or V3P12 IMO, but I'd be fine with them hashing it out over a longer discussion at a later time as well.
In the sequel,

The WN side stories are definitely worth reading even if only through something like Google Translate. They add a lot of interesting background details to the story. The sequel is still in its early stages, but I think it will also make several storylines end in a more satisfying way. For one thing,

@aneliese MTL makes my head hurt so I doubt I'll ever try that unless I get severely obsessed with something (and not even Bookworm has pushed me that far, so I have doubts that anything ever could). But all your posts are fun to read and make me want to read it for myself someday! I fervently pray that it gets published one day just like the main series.

@MasterLillyclaw I already typed up some WN side story summaries for another forum, so I was going to post those here along with some spoilers from the sequel. Volume 3 will be published in a few days, so I was mostly just waiting for that. :)

I really hope the sequel will get published in light novel form and J-Novel Club will license it. I really want to read it now!

As mentioned before, there are about 20 side stories exclusive to the web novel version. Most are written from the perspective of characters other than Nanalie, such as Rockmann, Nikeh, Benjamine, and Zenon. Nanalie has 3 perspectives, one of which I've summarized below.
Obligatory disclaimer: My Japanese is seriously pitiful, so there may be errors.
Side story: Fifth Grade (Nanalie's perspective)
http://ncode.syosetu.com/n2056dv/145/ (part 1)
http://ncode.syosetu.com/n2056dv/146/ (part 2)spoiler
This particular side story was written to promote the manga, so it's more of a fluff story and not really representative of the other WN side stories. There are no new revelations here beyond that Nanalie is oblivious to Russ' crush on her and Rockmann delivered comeuppance to the guy who injured Nanalie.
Also, it's a bit of a running joke in the side stories that Nanalie is frequently likened to a wild animal by various people. According to Zenon, the other aristocrat kids used to make bets when Rockmann was going to "tame" her. Rockmann himself thinks there are only two animals which cannot be tamed: the volcano-dwelling wolf and Hel. (Just like Nanalie always thinks of him as Rockmann instead of his first name, he always refers to her as Hel.)

Bookworm was one of only two WN's that I ever tried MTL (the other being Shinigami ni Sodaterareta Shoujo wa Shikkoku no Ken wo Mune ni Idaku - Mod Edit: Removed link to aggregate site.
However, since there isn't too much to this, I might just try taking a swipe at it, since I did like Receptionist, and I just kinda felt that their relationship needed to be covered more.@aneliese with my above statement in mind, does the "sequel" continue defining their relationship?

Apropos of nothing, I feel like Harre could lower their hiring requirements if they didn't have a portal in their main office to demon-infested hinterlands.
