In Destiny 2, weapons get buffed and nerfed all the time to keep the game balanced and fair. Since we are getting 12 Brave Arsenal weapons, Bungie is at it again buffing and nerfing weapons to make them all feel balanced. Here are all the weapon balancing changes in Destiny 2 Into the Light.
Destiny 2 Into the Light patch – Weapon archetype changes
These changes should help you get psyched for all the content in Into the Light. Here are the buffs and nerfs to select weapon archetypes in the Destiny 2 Into the Light 7.3.6 update:
- Breech-Loaded Grenade Launchers
- Increased impact damage by 40%. This is roughly a 15% damage buff, though the total damage varies depending on the blast radius stat.
- Reduced disorienting grenade radii (both damage and disorienting) by 15%.
- Lightweight Bows
- Increased lightweight Bow base damage by 6%. (Le Monarque and Wish-Ender are not affected in this change.)
- Precision (450 RPM) Auto Rifles
- Reduced base damage by 5%.
- Precision (180 RPM) Hand Cannons
- Precision Hand Cannons can 2-crit, 2-body low-resilience Guardians again and more easily get 3 critical hits with damage boosts.
- Increased base damage by 6%.
- Adaptive (140 RPM) Hand Cannons
- Adaptive Hand Cannons have an increased range cushion for the 3-tap, and their damage from Explosive Payload has been offset to allow them to 3-tap Guardians of any resilience within optimal range.
- Increased body shot damage by 1%.
- Increased critical hit damage by 4%.
- Rapid-Fire (540 RPM) Pulse Rifles
- Have increased forgiveness and allow 8 critical hits to kill low resilience Guardians.
- Increased body shot damage by 3.5%.
- Increased critical hit damage by 1%.
- Lightweight (450 RPM) Pulse Rifles
- Increased body shot damage by 6%.
- Increased critical hit damage by 3%.
- Adaptive (390 RPM) Pulse Rifles
- Increased body shot damage by 5%.
- Increased critical hit damage by 2%.
- Rapid-Fire (260 RPM) Scout Rifles
- Increased base damage by 2%.
- Precision Shotguns
- Corrected a rounding issue that was causing Precision Shotguns to require one extra pellet to kill max-resilience Guardians.
Destiny 2 Into the Light patch – Exotic weapon changes
Also with weapon archetypes, some Exotic weapons are getting buffs and nerfs to prepare for The Whisper and Zero Hour Exotic Missions coming back:
- Whisper of the Worm Exotic Sniper Rifle
- Increased total ammunition from 18 to 24 (before reserves mods).
- One Thousand Voices Exotic Fusion Rifle
- Increased total ammunition from 7 to 11 (before reserves mods).
- Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle
- Increased shots to trigger rockets by 50%.
- Reduced grenade area-of-effect damage vs. combatants by 37.5%.
- The Last Word Exotic Hand Cannon
- Increased base damage by 6%.
- Forerunner Exotic Sidearm
- Fixed the bonus critical damage error and increased base damage by 6%.
Destiny 2 Into the Light patch – Weapon perk changes
A few weapon perks are receiving buffs and nerfs in Destiny 2 Into the Light:
- Master of Arms
- Reduced the damage bonus from 20% to 15%.
- Magnificent Howl
- The number of Precision final blows before reloading affects the total rounds granted with increased range and damage. Precision final blows while Magnificent Howl is active extend the effect for additional rounds.
- Micro-Missile
- Redesigned this perk to be a weapon intrinsic and rebuilt it to do less direct damage vs. players, while giving it dramatically more self-physics impulse.
- Retuned its PvE damage to be competitive with other Breech-Loaded Grenade Launchers.
- Granted it a slightly increased reload speed.
- Permeability
- Fixed an issue where this perk was causing the Slammer Sword to get stuck on the Strand damage type.
Destiny 2 Into the Light patch – Crucible PvP changes
In closing, there are a handful of weapon buffs and nerfs exclusive to PvP Crucible in Destiny 2 Into the Light:
- Reduced flinch taken by all Primary weapons by 15%.
- Increased Sunshot’s precision damage by 11%.
- Reduced Wish-Ender’s base damage by 5%.
- Corrected some weapons getting incorrect ammo amounts from the meter rewards and crates.
